Rose, White & Blue, San Jose Ca, July 4, 2011



Enjoy a family holiday filled with History, Patriotism and Roses! The Rose, White and Blue Parade and Festival held annually on 4th of July in San Jose, California is a revival of the historic Rose Carnival of 1896, later known as The Fiesta de Las Rosas Parade in the 1920's.
Enjoy an old fashioned family-style parade as it winds through the Rose Garden neighborhood ending on the grand avenue of the The Alameda. This homespun parade features live bands, dance groups, home-made floats, kids on bikes, antique cars, and more. Following the parade attendees will enjoy the picnic on The Alameda featuring food and drink from local restaurants under the shade of our trees on The Alameda together with live music.

Santa Clara’s All-City Picnic and Fireworks Show, July 4, 2011


This all-day bash opens with a pancake breakfast and ends with pyrotechnics illuminating the sky. San Jose Giants Independence Day Fireworks, July 4, 2011

Morgan Hill Parade, July 4, 2011


For the 117th year in a row, Morgan Hill celebrates with its July 4th parade down Monterey Road and Main Ave., followed by fireworks at Morgan Hill Community Park. The parade starts with vintage and collector cars and continues with marching bands, youth groups, horseback riders, fire trucks and brightly colored floats -- all decked out in honor of the event theme, “America the Beautiful.” Other events today include a family bike ride, 5K run, one-mile walk and pre-fireworks entertainment at the park. 8am runs, 8:30am rides, 10:45am parade, 6pm pre-fireworks show and roughly 9pm fireworks. Los Gatos, July 4, 2011

Help celebrate our nation’s birthday with a good, old-fashioned concert in the park. Join SJWS for an afternoon of marches, popular tunes and patriotic songs. The concert is free, so arrive early with blankets, chairs and plenty of sunscreen (assuming the rain will stop by then!).

Campbell Summer Concert Series, June-July-August, 2011

The Campbell Summer Concert series is brought to you by the City of Campbell and generous donations from the community. The series starts in mid- June and continues for nine weeks with a different band playing each week. Concerts start at 6:30pm and last until 8:00pm. So bring a lawn chair and support the Campbell Museum Foundation by purchasing food and drinks at the event. Concerts take place on the Orchard City Green located right in front of the historic Ainsley House and adjacent to Campbell City Hall.

World Journal 35th Anniversary & Father’s Day Festival, June 19, 2011

World Journal invites you to join its annual community outdoor festival on Sunday, June 19 from 10 am to 5 pm, at Cupertino Memorial Park.

Come enjoy the event with your loved ones for a day of live performances, fresh-made gourmet food, and a wide variety of vendors. Parents are welcome to bring their kids and participate in the Daddy and I - Food Decoration Contest, or the My Daddy - Drawing Contest. The main stage will host programs including dance and instrument performances a “Recipe for a Skinny Dad” culinary show. Kids can also learn from the doggy showcase to respect lives around us.

In the meantime, families can also stroll in the park between booths for unexpected surprises from all sorts of vendors. After hours of fun, join the finale of World Journal 35th sweepstake to witness who is the owner of the grand prize, Smart Car, and all the other 349 lucky winners. Enter the sweepstake by submitting coupons collected from World Journal newspaper. Parking is available at De Anza College. The event promises to be fun for all who attend.
