ArtSplash, Montalvo Arts Center, Saturday, April 18, 11am-4pm.




A free and family-friendly festival, ArtSplash is an invitation for the community to explore and enjoy the beautiful Montalvo Arts Center! Join the fun on Saturday, April 18, 11am-4pm.

Now in its fifth year, ArtSplash features live musical performances, hands-on art activities, tours of the historic Villa and gardens, visual arts throughout the property, and more. Guests will also have the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes in open studios at Montalvo's Lucas Artists Residency—and the chance to talk with the artists-in-residence and witness them in creative action.
A variety of delicious food trucks (and ice cream!) will be on hand with options to satisfy anyone's palate. So, bring your walking shoes and your appetite and plan to spend the day.

Celebrate El Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with a full day of live entertainment, cultural demonstrations, and hands-on family fun. Decorate calaveras de azucar (sugar skulls) and make other traditional and not-so-traditional crafts inspired by this festive holiday.

Schedule of events


  • 11–11:15 AM: Opening ceremony led by Aztec Dancers Calpulli Tonalehqueh
  • 12–1:30 PM and 2–3:30 PM:  Roaming skeleton performers
  • 1:15–1:45 PM: Traditional Aztec music and dance by Calpulli Tonalehqueh
  • 1:30–4 PM: Ofrenda building demonstration by local artist Phyllis Carrasco

Now in its seventh year, the Luna Park Chalk Art festival bring together thousands of artists, arts students, and art lovers from all cultural and artistic backgrounds for a day of community celebration in a beautiful downtown San Jose park.
See art created live throughout the event while artists create works of art. Listen and dance to Live music, and savor the delicous food provided by the various themed food trucks.

The 2014 chalk art/art festival will kick-off on the morning of Friday the 19th.  On Friday, we highly encourage all chalk artists to start on their murals. The festival main event is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th from 10am-5pm! This is a RAIN OR SHINE EVENT!!!  Yipee!!!

Flying Over San Francisco with the Phantom 2 Vision+

Wanting to get a unique perspective of San Francisco, I made numerous trips to the city with my DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ "drone" to capture some of my favorite spots with this aerial camera. The view of San Francisco from the air is truly impressive. I hope you enjoy this 3 minute view over one of the greatest cities in the world.

de Young Museum, San Francisco CA




The de Young, a fine arts museum located in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, is one of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco along with the Legion of Honor. The de Young is named for its founder, early San Francisco newspaperman M. H. de Young.
Founded in 1895 in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, the de Young Museum has been an integral part of the cultural fabric of the city and a cherished destination for millions of residents and visitors to the region for over 100 years.
On October 15, 2005, the de Young Museum re-opened in a state-of-the-art new facility that integrates art, architecture and the natural landscape in one multi-faceted destination that will inspire audiences from around the world. Designed by the renowned Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron and Fong & Chan Architects in San Francisco, the new de Young provided San Francisco with a landmark art museum to showcase the museum’s priceless collections of American art from the 17th through the 20th centuries, Textile arts, and art of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas.

A favorite spot for visitors, Allied Arts has Spanish Colonial-style buildings in a garden setting with fountains and flower-lined walkways, studio artists, paintings, pottery, sculpture and woodwork, all in a beautiful garden setting. A La Carte & Art Festival, Mountain View Ca, May 21-22, 2011

Presented by the Mountain View Central Business Association, the festival will feature two days of stellar live music, a fine arts and crafts show with 200 of the west coast’s top artists showing their latest handcrafted wares, artisan specialty food purveyors, health and wellness displays, an organic and green products showcase, home and garden exhibits, festive food and drink with premium wine, microbrews, margaritas and mojitos, a farmers’ market with fresh seasonal produce, a multitude of kids’ amusements in the Tons of Fun Zone, and "A La Car & Art"—a classic and custom car show. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Admission is free.

MACLA is located between William Street and Reed Street in downtown San Jose.
MACLA is an inclusive contemporary arts space grounded in the Chicano/Latino experience that incubates new visual, literary and performance art in order to engage people in civic dialogue and community transformation. While most Latino community based art organizations have concentrated on the preservation and dissemination of traditional art forms, MACLA has been explicitly dedicated to supporting the work of Latino artists interested in creating symbols and language for a new society and a new time. MACLA produces approximately 50 individual programs a year in four distinct programming tracts:
